PHOENIX — The Chandler Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the driver of a vehicle that struck a mother and child on Thursday.

Officers responded to a call around 2:20 p.m. near California and Tulsa streets about a hit-and-run accident involving a mother and child.

The mother was pushing the child in a stroller on a sidewalk when a northbound car on California Street lost control, struck her and the kid, hit a block wall and a tree, according to authorities.

The pair received minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital.

Police said the suspect vehicle may be a light gray or white two-door Ford Mustang.

Authorities said the vehicle likely has damages on the front-end.

The identities of the victims weren’t released.

The Chandler Police Department is asking anyone with information regarding the case to contact them at (480) 782-4130.

We want to hear from you.
