PHOENIX — Arizona State University police are looking for a suspect who allegedly sexually assaulted a woman near an ASU parking structure on Sunday morning.

The man is described as dark-skinned and taller than 5-foot-8 with short curly hair and a goatee. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with black jean shorts and a belt and is considered armed with a knife or a gun.

The incident occurred between the ASU Packard parking structure at Scottsdale Road and Rio Salado Parkway and the Hyatt House Tempe near Rural Road and University Drive, authorities said.

Police said the man allegedly grabbed the woman from behind and held a metal knife-like object to her throat.

The man then took the woman to an unknown location near the Packard parking structure where he sexually assaulted her before pressing a gun-like object into her back and leaving the area on foot, authorities said.

ASU police are actively investigating the incident and the department can be reached at 480-965-3456.
