Woman dies after being struck by vehicle in Phoenix

PHOENIX — An adult woman was killed after getting struck by a vehicle near the intersection of East McDowell Road and North 26th Street in Phoenix on Friday night.

Phoenix police responded to a report of a collision around 6:30 p.m., according to a press release.

Officers learned that the female was hit while crossing the street by a vehicle heading east.

The driver did not flee and cooperated with investigators.

Impairment was not believed to have come into play in this situation, according to the release.

The female was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

No additional information was made available.
