PHOENIX — Interstate 10 and Loop 101 closures are among the restrictions Valley drivers will face this weekend.

North of downtown Phoenix, eastbound I-10 will be closed between the I-17 Stack interchange and Seventh Street from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Sunday for tunnel inspections, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Both I-17 ramps to eastbound I-10 at the Stack will also be closed as part of the project.

A portion of the highway is also set to be closed in the West Valley as westbound I-10 will be shut down between 75th and 99th avenues from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for asphalt removal as part of a pavement improvement project.

The northbound Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway ramp to westbound I-10, westbound I-10 on-ramp at 67th Avenue and westbound I-10 frontage road between 75th and 99th avenues are all scheduled to be closed for the work, along with the westbound I-10 ramp to northbound Loop 101.

In Buckeye, I-10 will also be narrowed to one lane in either direction in areas between Verrado Way and State Route 85 during varying times of the weekend for a widening project. The eastbound direction will be restricted from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday, and the westbound direction from 7 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

In north Phoenix, the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Cave Creek Road and Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

The northbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 and the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at 56th Street are also set to be closed for the project.

In the East Valley, the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway will be closed intermittently overnight between Gilbert and Greenway roads from 8 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday for SRP overhead utility work.

The on-ramp for the highway at Val Vista Drive is also set to be closed during that time.

In Tempe, the westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway will also be narrowed to two lanes with the left two lanes closed near Priest Drive from 4 a.m. to noon on Saturday for barrier wall repairs.

South of Chandler, State Route 587 is set to be restricted in areas between Hunt Highway and Casa Blanca Road from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for pavement sealing.
