PHOENIX — Phoenix has started offering $100 gift cards to individuals who get vaccinated at city-sponsored events in a push to increase inoculation rates in underserved communities.

The Phoenix City Council approved the pilot program, in partnership with clinical health care vendors, according to a press release Tuesday.

Those who get fully vaccinated at city events can get a gift card for local grocery stores or gas stations.

The city is offering vaccination clinics multiple times weekly through its mobile van program with Vincere Cancer Center and Premier Lab Solutions.

The next event will be Saturday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Desert Sage Library located at 7602 W. Encanto Boulevard. Registration is available online.

Mobile vaccinations spots are also scheduled for Saturday, Monday and Tuesday.

A full list of the program’s vaccination events can be found here.
