PHOENIX — The storied event that serves as a celebration of the past, present and future of Scottsdale’s western culture is set to return in February of next year.

The Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival will take place Feb. 5, according to a press release.

“We’re extremely proud to present the 67th Annual Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival in 2022 and to be a part of keeping this tradition going strong in Scottsdale,” Jose Leon of the Scottsdale Charros, which manages the event, said in the release.

“This event is not only a lot of fun for our residents around the Valley, it attracts thousands of visitors and serves as a positive economic boost for the city and its many local businesses.”

The parade, which will go from Drinkwater Boulevard along Scottsdale Road, typically features 150 entries made up of colorful floats, mounted horse-riders, a horse-drawn carriage, marching bands, wagons and stagecoaches representing many cultures, according to the release.

The culmination of the parade at Brown Avenue and Indian School Road will lead into a Western-style block party.

People at the block party can enjoy food trucks, merchandise vendors, a kid’s zone and multiple stages with live entertainment.

While the complete entertainment lineup is set to be announced at a later date, it is expected concerts will include music from the popular bands of today as well as traditional performers.

The theme for the event is “Back in the Saddle” and Dan Harkins, the owner of Harkins Theatres, will be the parade’s Grand Marshall, according to the release.

More information on the event can be found online.
