PHOENIX — A free, family-friendly event with games, carnival rides and entertainment will return to Mesa on Saturday.
Celebrate Mesa will run from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Red Mountain Soccer Complex located at 905 N. Sun Valley Blvd.
Attendees will be able to browse various booths for giveaways prior to a 7:30 p.m. showing of the movie “The Croods: A New Age.”
Those with children can enjoy a petting zoo, bounce houses and archery tag. A $5 wristband will also give unlimited use of carnival rides.
Live Music will come from Awake at Midnight and Arizona Blacktop. The event will have a battle of the bands for youth bands with a grand prize of a studio recording at Stem Recording.
A food court will feature dishes from Korean and Mexican cuisines.
A new feature this year is Mesa Arts Center’s Mobile Art-Based Engagement Lab, a pop-up community center on the go that will host a cyanotype printing activity every 30 minutes starting at 5:30 p.m.
Masks are encouraged for the festival.
