PHOENIX – The long-running Original Phoenix Greek Festival returns this weekend after taking last year off because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The 60th edition of the popular tradition runs Friday-Sunday at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 1973 E. Maryland Ave.

The event features a wide variety of Greek food — including lamb shank, moussaka, spanakopita and bakery treats – as well as live music, dance performances and lessons, and shopping.

The festivities run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.

Admission is $5 per day, with no charge for kids under 12 and free entry for people over 60 on Saturday before 3 p.m. No pets are permitted.

Parking on the church lot costs $5, but there’s a free shuttle service available all weekend at the southwest corner of 24th Street and Lincoln Drive.

Visit the festival’s website for more information, including performance schedules.

We want to hear from you.
