PHOENIX — Infrequent June visitors to the Valley dropped by Friday, as thunder, lighting and rain arrived and made a little history.
According to the National Weather Service, it had never before rained in the area on this date in 100 years of record-keeping.
The previous date and last time it rained this early in the month was June 6, 1993.
