Arizona AG Mark Brnovich to ‘take all necessary actions’ on election findings

Sep 24, 2021, 2:48 PM | Updated: 2:50 pm

PHOENIX – Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich said Friday he’s prepared to “take all necessary actions” in response to the results of the Arizona Senate’s review of the last year’s election in Maricopa County.

“I will take all necessary actions that are supported by the evidence and where I have legal authority,” Brnovich, a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 2022, said in a press release.

“Arizonans deserve to have their votes accurately counted and protected.”

Brnovich issued the release just before Cyber Ninjas and the other Senate contractors released the findings of their five-month review of the November 2020 election in metro Phoenix.

In a letter to Brnovich, Arizona Senate President Karen said Friday she had concerns about “several items” and was forwarding the reports to his office to consider for further investigation.

The Elections Integrity Unit of the Attorney General’s Office will review the evidence and determine what, if any, actions to take, according to the release.

Fann has publicly maintained that she authorized the review as a means to improve election integrity, not to overturn the results.

However, many supporters of former President Donald Trump see it as a step toward somehow returning him to office.

The contractors only looked at the races for president and U.S. Senate, which were both won by Democrats.

The results released by Cyber Ninjas were similar to the ones certified by state officials, including Brnovich and Republican Gov. Doug Ducey.
