In this photo by Biswaranjan Rout, fishermen throw in their nets into the River Mahanadi, or Great River, on the outskirts of Cuttack, India. The river is considered sacred and is also one of India’s largest with a network of canals before it reaches the eastern coast. It is mainly used for agriculture, while fishermen using country boats and nets catch fish to sell in local markets or to traders.
