PHOENIX – Does it have to be October to celebrate Oktoberfest?
The folks at the Fountain Hills Chamber of Commerce don’t think so. After last year’s event was canceled because of COVID-19, the annual Oktoberfest at the Fountain is back on tap for this weekend.
The Bavarian-style beer festival will take place Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at Fountain Park.
Tickets are $10 per day and can be purchased online or at the gate (cash only). Children 12 and under get in free.
Guests who get into the spirit by wearing traditional Oktoberfest attire – think lederhosen and dirndls — will get $5 vouchers for food and drinks.
Venders will offer a variety of authentic German libations and food, including beer (of course), wine, pretzels, strudel, schnitzel and bratwurst.
The celebration will also feature live music, polka dance lessons, competitions and a free kids zone with bouncy castles and obstacle courses.
