PHOENIX — A Phoenix company has announced plans to bring 32 locations of an Arkansas-based chicken fast food restaurant to the Valley and other cities across Arizona over the next 10 years.

Barnett Management Company’s first Slim Chickens in metro Phoenix is expected to be built and opened in the West Valley by the end of 2022, according to a press release Tuesday.

After the West Valley location, which is targeted to be located near the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway and Northern Avenue, the company plans to open two to three more restaurants per year in the state in the years to follow.

Flagstaff, Yuma and Tucson have also been discussed as destinations for Slim Chickens, which is based in Fayetteville.

The Arizona endeavor of Slim Chickens will be called AZ Slims, according to the release.

The restaurant was in Arizona most recently as 2019 in Chandler before closing.

Slim Chickens’ menu includes chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fried okra and pickles, and features 17 house dipping sauces.

The restaurants will be open seven days a week, the release said.

Barnett Management Company, which has exclusive operating rights for Slim Chickens in Arizona, also owns and operates more than 50 Burger Kings in the state.

Slim Chickens has more than 140 locations across 25 states and internationally.
