PHOENIX – A Phoenix-area photographer has been arrested and accused of secretly recording multiple people in the bathroom of his studio, authorities said.
Stephane Pepin of Fountain Hills faces felony counts of surreptitiously photographing, recording and viewing people, a spokesman for the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office said in an email Friday.
Pepin, 52, was taken into custody Tuesday, two days after two women who work as models told deputies they had found the camera while changing clothes at Showcase Theatre.
They looked at the contents of the camera’s SD card and then turned it over to authorities, MCSO said.
Videos of people in various stages of undress were on the card. During questioning, deputies said Pepin told them he placed the camera there for security reasons and also that he watched remotely.
At one point, MCSO said, Pepin was visible as he adjusted the camera.
