Mesa High School evacuated after bomb threat called in

PHOENIX — Mesa High School was evacuated Wednesday morning after a bomb threat was called in, authorities said.
An investigation of the school turned up no bombs, Mesa Police Department spokesman Richard Encinas said.
“No devices, bombs or anything else were found,” Encinas said during a press conference.
Students were initially sent to the football field, Encinas said in an email at about 9:45 a.m.
Mesa Public Schools said parents were informed the campus received a bomb threat and that after, evacuated students were taken to Mountain View High to keep them out of the heat.
Encinas said police were following multiple leads regarding the threat.
Mesa High is located near Gilbert Road and Southern Avenue.
No other information was immediately available.
