PHOENIX — A closure on parts of eastbound Interstate 10 in the West Valley will hinder drivers this weekend as crews begin to remove the asphalt.

Eastbound I-10 between Avondale Boulevard and 99th Avenue will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, along with eastbound I-10 on-ramps at Litchfield and Dysart roads, the Arizona Department of Transportation said in a press release.

South of downtown Phoenix, southbound Interstate 17 will be closed between 19th Avenue/Durango Street and Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for bridge work.

In the north Valley, westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between 56th Street and State Route 51 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement sealing as part of a widening project.

The westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Scottsdale Road and 64th Street will also be closed.

Westbound I-10 will be closed between the I-17 “split” interchange near Sky Harbor International Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for tunnel lighting maintenance.

Southbound SR 51 and westbound Loop 202 ramps to westbound I-10 will also be closed.

Finally, in north Peoria, southbound Loop 303 will be closed between Lone Mountain Parkway and El Mirage Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday to shift traffic to new freeway lanes.
