Toddler boy drowns in Phoenix swimming pool, dies

PHOENIX – A toddler boy who was pulled from a Phoenix swimming pool Monday has died, authorities said.
The Phoenix Fire Department said a crew responded to a drowning call at a home near 68th and Southern avenues around 6:20 p.m. When they arrived, family members had already begun resuscitation efforts on the unresponsive 2-year-old.
Phoenix Police Department officers also tried to revive the boy at the home.
The child was taken to hospital in critical condition. Further lifesaving attempts were made but he was pronounced dead.
“At this time, this is being investigated as a tragic accident,” police said in a press release Tuesday morning.
