1-year-old in extremely critical condition after drowning incident in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A 1-year-old girl was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition after drowning in a pool in Phoenix on Saturday, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived at a home near Indian School Road and 99th Avenue around 3 p.m. and found bystanders performing CPR on the infant, Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott Douglas said in an email.
Emergency personnel took over medical treatment and transported her to a local emergency room, Douglas said.
It isn’t known how long the child was under water.
