PHOENIX — Those looking to get some relief from the sweltering heat on Saturday will be able to cool off with some snow at the Scottsdale Quarter.

The shopping center at 15059 N. Scottsdale Road will have 12 tons of snow, cold treats, yard games and music at the free Beat the Heat summer social from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“We’re excited to offer the community one final bash before the summer comes to a close,” Richard Hunt, general manager at Scottsdale Quarter, said in a press release.

“Beat the Heat will be an all-out event that really shows how versatile Scottsdale Quarter can be. It will be a great opportunity for families to play games together and cool down in the snow.”

The first 500 attendees to the event will receive giveaways, according to the release.

People can also sample iced teas from beverage company Bubble Bee, get a balloon animal, enjoy ice cream-themed inflatables, cool off in the center’s pop jet fountain as well as listen to music.

The event concludes the shopping center’s summer series of free, family-friendly events.

We want to hear from you.
