Loop 202 closed in East Valley due to emergency utility work

PHOENIX — The eastbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway was closed in the East Valley on Friday afternoon during rush hour due to emergency utility work.
The freeway was closed at Gilbert Road at about 4:45 p.m. and reopened around 6:50 p.m., according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Drivers were told to expect delays and seek an alternate route.
