Fatal crash closes northbound I-17 at Bethany Home Road in Phoenix

PHOENIX – One person was killed in a crash that shut down part of Interstate 17 in north central Phoenix for three hours on Friday morning.
Two motorcyclists collided in northbound lanes near Bethany Home Road around 8 a.m., the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
Other vehicles were also involved in the crash, authorities said.
The freeway was reopened at about 11 a.m.
Traffic was backed up to McDowell Road.
