1 dead, 4 injured in 2-vehicle wreck in Phoenix intersection

PHOENIX – One person died and four others were injured after two vehicles collided at a Phoenix intersection, first responders said.

The vehicles crashed at 20th and Roosevelt streets Thursday around 10 p.m., the Phoenix Police Department said.

A westbound Dodge Challenger carrying four men turned left and hit an eastbound Chevy Silverado.

A passenger in the Dodge, Jovany Cortez-Yanez, 20, was pronounced dead.

Police said neither driver showed signs of impairment.

No other information was immediately available.
