I-10 closure near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport to hinder weekend drivers

PHOENIX — An Interstate 10 closure near Phoenix Sky Harbor Airport as part of the Broadway Curve Improvement Project will hinder drivers this weekend.
Westbound I-10 will be closed between State Route 143 and Interstate 17 near the Phoenix airport from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for asphalt removal and work-zone setup as part of the project.
Westbound I-10 on-ramps at Elliot, Baseline and Broadway roads will also be closed during that time, as will the westbound U.S. 60 HOV lane ramp to westbound I-10 and the westbound U.S. 60 on-ramp at Mill Avenue.
Drivers coming from the East Valley that need to access the airport can use Loop 101 to the Westbound Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway.
In Scottsdale, the Westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed from Pima Road/Princess Drive to Scottsdale Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.
The northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Raintree Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will also be closed.
In Maricopa, northbound State Route 347 will be narrowed to one lane between Lakeview/Cobblestone drives and Casa Blanca Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday for resurfacing.
In Buckeye, I-10 will be narrowed to one lane in both directions in areas between Watson Road and State Route 85 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights until Sept. 10 for a widening project.
Finally, the westbound State Route 24 ramp to the Loop 202 Santan Freeway in Mesa will be closed from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday for construction.
