PHOENIX — Ballet Arizona recently announced the return of its free outdoor performances set to land this fall across the Valley.

Ballet Under the Stars, presented by Ballet Arizona, will bring a live show to Phoenix, Glendale, Goodyear and Fountain Hills.

“These performances allow all people to be immersed in the world of ballet and can often ignite the spark for a love of ballet,” Artistic Director Ib Andersen said in a press release.

The performances are set to begin at 7 p.m. from Sept. 29- Oct. 2.

All members of the community are invited to attend and are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit back and enjoy the varied program, ranging from classical to contemporary.

Guests can expect to see an outdoor setting completed with professional staging, lighting and costumers.

Here’s the performance schedule for Ballet Under the Stars:

  • September 29 at Fountain Park in Fountain Hills
  • September 30 at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale
  • October 1 at Estrella Lakeside Amphitheater in Goodyear
  • October 2 at Steele Indian School Park in Phoenix

The free performances will kick-off Ballet Arizona’s 2021-2022 season, which is scheduled to begin with its first live mainstage performance in over year on Oct. 29.

Each park performance costs approximately $50,000, with sponsors covering expenses which include dancers, costumers and music royalties.

The outdoor ballet performances are sponsored by a range of communities, including the city of Phoenix, town of Fountain Hills, city of Goodyear, City of Glendale, Grand Canyon University and APS.

We want to hear from you.
