Weekend Valley freeway restrictions include closure of I-10 near Sky Harbor

PHOENIX — A closure of eastbound Interstate 10 near Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix is among the restrictions on Valley freeways this weekend.
Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the State Route 51 “Mini-Stack” interchange and 40th Street near the airport from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday for asphalt removal as part of the new I-10 Broadway Curve Improvement Project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The southbound SR 51 and westbound Loop 202 ramps to eastbound I-10, all eastbound I-10 on-ramps between Third and 40th streets and the southbound Interstate 17 ramp to eastbound I-10 at the split interchange near Sky Harbor Airport will all be closed as part of the project.
Southbound I-17 on-ramps at Seventh Avenue and Seventh Street, as well as the southbound SR 143 on-ramp at University Drive will also be closed.

Those accessing the airport from southbound I-17 can exit to northbound 16th Street and use eastbound Buckeye Road to reach the airport. People can also use westbound I-10 exits to the airport, including Buckeye Road. Airport exits will be available from eastbound Loop 202 and southbound State Route 143, according to ADOT.
In northeast Scottsdale, the Westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Pima Road and Princess Drive and Scottsdale Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.

Northbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Raintree Drive and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard will also be closed, along with Tatum Boulevard in both directions at Loop 101.
In Maricopa, State Route 347 will be narrowed to one lane in either direction in areas between Casa Blanca Road and Cobblestone Farms Drive from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement maintenance.
