10-month-old in critical condition after drowning incident in East Valley

PHOENIX — A 10-month-old boy in the East Valley was hospitalized Sunday evening following a drowning incident, authorities said.
Mesa police responded to the call near Elliot and Signal Butte roads around 7:30 p.m.
The child was taken to a pediatric hospital in extremely critical condition, police said.
It was the third drowning incident on Sunday following a 3-year-old girl in Mesa who died after being taken to the hospital in critical condition and a young boy who was taken to the hospital in critical condition in Phoenix.
