Bullhead City Police Department mourns loss of officer to COVID-19

PHOENIX — Bullhead City Police Department Lt. Nick Sessions has passed away after a prolonged fight against COVID-19 and the complications that followed, the department announced on Saturday.
Sessions was a law enforcement officer with the department for more than 22 years, according to a press release.
“You could always count on Lt. Sessions for a laugh and a story, often both at once,” read a statement from the department in the release. “He epitomized pride, dedication, honor and commitment.
“He put his all into helping others – fellow officers and community members alike – and doing it with a smile and wry humor. Everywhere he worked, Lt. Sessions gained the respect and friendship of all who knew him.”
Prior to joining the department in January of 1999, Sessions briefly served in the United States Army and began his law enforcement career as a reserve police officer with the LaVerne, California, police department in 1993.
He performed numerous duties with the department, including working in the traffic section, the narcotics section, as a school resource officer, supervisor in the Bureau of Criminal Investigations, patrol commander, SWAT team leader and tactical commander.
He was awarded Officer of the Year in 2001 and was promoted to lieutenant in 2008, according to the release.
