PHOENIX – Tempe Marketplace is hosting a Back to School Bash on Saturday, with free ice cream, music and hands-on activities for students and their families.
The event is set for 5-7 p.m. at the splash pad near Barnes & Noble and includes crafts, photo ops and prizes.
Kids can cool off in the splash pad and enjoy chilly treats courtesy of Stone Cold Creamery.
Attendees can also enter for a chance to win a $250 grant for their school.
Tempe Marketplace also has entertainment for a different sort of crowd Saturday night, with The Harvest, a Grateful Dead tribute band, playing at 6 p.m.-9 p.m. on the District Stage.
The sprawling shopping complex on Rio Salado Parkway near the intersection of Loops 101 and 202, home to more than 100 shops and restaurants, hosts free concerts every Friday and Saturday.
