PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department is asking for the public to help identify the vehicle of a suspect in a fatal hit-and-run collision on Friday.

The collision occurred near 71st Avenue and Thomas Road just before 10 a.m. when a man struck a sedan and a pickup truck with his Chevrolet Tahoe and did not stop, police said.

The vehicle is an older model Chevrolet Tahoe that is tan or gold and has damage to the front, while the suspect is described by police as a Hispanic man between the age of 25 and 35 with short dark hair.

A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, 48-year-old Manuel Maldonado, died from his injuries at the hospital, police said.

A man and a woman in the sedan were each transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Phoenix Police Department at (602) 262-6141. Those who would prefer to remain anonymous can call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO for Spanish.

We want to hear from you.
