Here are the Arizona cities requiring face masks inside their facilities
PHOENIX – Municipalities across Arizona are starting to mandate face masks in government buildings again in response to a change in federal COVID-19 mitigation guidelines and rising case numbers.
Based on data about the rapid spread of the COVID-19 delta variant, the CDC now recommends that even vaccinated people wear masks in public indoor settings in parts of the U.S. classified as having substantial or high transmission.
Arizona law prohibits local municipalities from imposing citywide mask mandates, but businesses, cities and towns are allowed to require face coverings in the buildings they operate.
Here’s an alphabetical list of Arizona municipalities that have announced face mask requirements inside government facilities:
- Fountain Hills
- Maricopa County
(Note: policies might differ in Superior Court and the offices of county elected officials)
