Crash closes westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway in East Valley

PHOENIX – A two-vehicle crash temporarily closed westbound Loop 202 Santan Freeway in the East Valley on Tuesday morning, officials said.

The wreck shut down the roadway at Val Vista Drive in Gilbert around 8:20 a.m., the Arizona Department of Transportation said. Lanes reopened around 10 a.m.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety said a motorcycle and an SUV collided.

Backed-up traffic was allowed to pass in the right lane.

No other details were immediately available.
