PHOENIX – A man suspected of wearing a wig while breaking into a downtown Chandler steakhouse and stealing $14,500 was arrested last week, authorities said.

Patrick Intintoli, 40, was booked into Maricopa County Jail on July 15 on felony counts of burglary and criminal damage.

The July 4 incident at the DC Steakhouse on Arizona Avenue south of Chandler Boulevard was captured on interior and exterior surveillance video, according to court documents.

The video shows a man breaking a lock box that contained a key to the steakhouse around 8:30 a.m., according to the probable cause statement. Police said he then forced his way into the manager’s office and took a small safe filled with $12,000 and also pried open a freezer in the bar area to get to a money bag with $2,500.

Intintoli matches the description of the subject in the video other than on top of his head, police said. Intintoli is bald, but the man in the video had hair hanging from the back of a baseball cap.

However, the hair didn’t cover a distinctive tattoo on the subject’s neck that resembles Intintoli’s body art, police said.

Intintoli was taken into custody at his residence in Mesa. Police said they found items from the video in the house as well as a foam wig head.

In addition to the cash loss, the restaurant suffered an estimated $15,000 in damage, police said.
