PHOENX – Police in two cities have released the identities of bodies found in Valley waterways in the past week.

The Scottsdale Police Department on Wednesday said Robert Anthony Cuillo, 23, was found deceased in the Arizona Canal near Scottsdale and Camelback roads on Monday morning.

Police said Friday there was no indication foul play was involved, but the investigation is active. They are working with the Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine Cuillo’s cause of death.

Cuillo had been the subject of a missing persons campaign. He’d last been seen Saturday in Old Town Scottsdale, the neighborhood surrounding the canal, according to flyers posted in the area.

Family and friends of Cuillo told local TV stations that he lived in Old Town Scottsdale and would frequently walk to bars, shops and restaurants.

On Tuesday, the Tempe Police Department identified the man whose body was found in Tempe Town Lake on Saturday morning as Aaron Lee Yazzi, 35.

Rescue teams first responded to the lake Friday afternoon after getting a call about a man who ran into the water and never resurfaced.

“The circumstances surrounding Yazzi running into the lake Friday are not known,” Tempe Sgt. Steven Carbajal said in a press release.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
