PHOENIX — U.S. 60 will be closed overnight the next two Wednesdays between Superior and Miami as part of the Pinto Creek Bridge replacement project.
The highway east of metro Phoenix will close each Wednesday evening starting from 8 p.m. and until 4 a.m. the next morning, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Crews will be pouring the concrete deck on the new bridge during that time.
Drivers could encounter alternating late restrictions if work extends past 4 a.m. each morning.
Highway traffic will be detoured to State Route 177 in Superior and State Route 77 in Globe during the closures.
Motorists on U.S. 60 who are going somewhere between SR 177 and Top-of-the-World west of Pinto Creek or between Miami and Pinto Valley Mine Road east of Pinto Creek will be allowed to pass during that time.
No vehicles will be allowed between Top-of-the-World and Pinto Valley Mine Road.
Work started on the bridge project in October 2019.
