One fearless man built a rocket jet-kart, flame engine and all.

Inventor and creator extradionaire Colin Furze took his finished jet-kart for a test ride and reached top speeds of 60 mph.

Furze had a limited airstrip to work with so chances are the top speed recorded could be greater given a longer track, or maybe even blast off into space by the looks of it.

While Furze is working on a longer airstrip maybe he should take some inspiration from our good friend Mario and add some banana peels to the course.
