Arizona DPS mourns loss of detective in unexpected death over the weekend

PHOENIX — The Arizona Department of Public Safety is grieving for the loss of one of its detectives who passed away over the weekend, the department announced Wednesday.
Detective Benjamin Kjellstrom “unexpectedly passed away in his sleep at home on Saturday,” AZDPS said in a Facebook post.
Detective Kjellstrom was a member of the Gila County Criminal Targeting Unit in the Criminal Investigations Division at the time of his death.
He began his career with AZDPS as a state trooper.
Kjellstrom is survived by his wife, two children, parents and sister.
