PHOENIX – Officials lifted all evacuation orders related to the Tiger Fire north of the Phoenix area on Wednesday morning.

The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office deactivated all evacuation statuses as of 8 a.m. Horsethief Basin had been under a “GO” order since July 4, while Crown King and the Lorena Gulch were in “SET” mode.

The lightning-caused Tiger Fire, which started 11 miles east of Crown King on June 30, has consumed 16,278 acres of land, with 50% containment and no significant growth in recent days.

About 280 personnel are assigned to the blaze. Incident command will be turned over to local management Thursday morning.

County Road 177 and national forest lands south of CR 177 between Mayer and Palace Station remain closed to anybody but residents of Crown King.

Remaining crews have been patrolling, working on fire line repair and removing equipment that’s no longer needed.

Crown King is about 60 miles north of Phoenix, in the southern part of Prescott National Forest.
