PHOENIX– True-crime television network Investigation Discovery will explore the 2008 Cave Creek murder of Mary Elizabeth Hermann and the conviction of Justin Lunsford in the premiere of the new season of “Reasonable Doubt.”

Retired homicide detective Chris Anderson and criminal defense attorney Fatima Silva use their expertise and resources to re-examine controversial murder cases throughout the country to determine if the right person is imprisoned for the crime.

Lunsford and Hermann were last seen leaving a bar together, and Lunsford claims that the pair did not see each other after the next morning.

Hermann, 29, was found dead July 8 with both her home and vehicle set on fire.

Lunsford, who was 26 at the time, was arrested for Hermann’s murder when a witness placed a man at the crime scene, and Lunsford feels he was pressured to plead guilty to a 23-year sentence to avoid the death penalty.

Along with Lunsford, his brother and wife maintain his innocence and hope that Anderson and Silva find evidence of his innocence.
