PHOENIX — An acclaimed Chinese-Mexican-Jamaican fusion spot will complete its move to its new Phoenix location on Thursday.

Chino Bandido is set to open its doors at its 6,000-square-foot restaurant at Third Avenue and Bell Road from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Owner Eve Collins announced plans in March to move from its original location of 31 years near 19th Avenue and Greenway Road to a larger, more modern space.

Chino Bandido closed the original spot on May 9 and has operated a food truck since May 17 in preparation for the new location.

The Bell Road location boasts a patio that is able to serve 30 people in addition to other upgraded features.

Pancho, the restaurant’s iconic 7,500-pound, custom-made black granite bear, was previously moved to the new spot.

Chino Bandido has been featured multiple times on the Food Network show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”

The fusion restaurant serves everything from jerk chicken to refried beans to snickerdoodles.

We want to hear from you.
