Multi-vehicle collision kills 2, sends 6 others to hospital in Phoenix

PHOENIX — A multi-vehicle collision killed two and sent six others to a hospital on Monday morning in Phoenix, authorities said.
Firefighters arrived shortly after midnight to a 3-vehicle collision near 37th and Grand avenues and pronounced two adults dead at the scene.
Three woman and a 3-year-old were taken to a local hospital in critical condition, authorities said.
A set of 1-year-old twins were also involved in the crash and taken to the hospital in stable condition.
All six sent to the hospital are expected to survive, Phoenix Police spokeswoman Sgt. Mercedes Fortune said.
The driver of the first vehicle in the wreck exhibited symptoms of being impaired and was issued a citation at the scene and released, according to Fortune.
He may face additional charges, Fortune said.
