One woman found dead, another injured in Phoenix house fire

PHOENIX – Firefighters in Phoenix found the body of a woman inside of a burning home, authorities said Saturday morning.

Firefighters were alerted to reports of smoke coming from a bedroom window near Greenway Road and 64 Street, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

Engine 31 was the first to arrive and found a working house fire.

One woman was found dead during the search and rescue and another was taken to the hospital in stable condition for minor smoke inhalation, authorities said.

Both of the women haven’t been identified.

Cause of the fire and death are under investigation.
