PHOENIX — Eegee’s long-anticipated return to metro Phoenix is right around the corner.

The popular Tucson-based fast food chain announced Tuesday its Gilbert location at the southwest corner of Baseline Road and Val Vista Drive will open next month.

A two-day job fair at the under construction location to hire more than 60 employees will happen Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

A total of five Valley locations are expected to open in 2021.

The fast food chain previously had Valley locations but doesn’t have any as of now.

Currently, the closest Eegee’s location to metro Phoenix is in Casa Grande.

The company’s signature frozen treats have also been available at some Valley Blimpie sandwich shops.

Other Valley locations are scheduled for Phoenix, Mesa, Scottsdale and a second location in Gilbert.

Eegee’s has more than 20 locations across Tucson and has been in business since 1971.

We want to hear from you.
