Loop 101 closure leads restrictions on Valley freeways this weekend

PHOENIX — Valley drivers will face a closure on a portion of the Loop 101 in north Phoenix as well as multiple other restrictions this weekend.
Westbound Loop 101 will be closed between Seventh Street and Interstate 17 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The northbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 will also be closed as part of the project.
Also in north Phoenix, southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane with the left lane open between Daisy Mountain Drive and Pioneer Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Saturday for resurfacing.
The southbound I-17 on-ramp at Pioneer Road will also be closed.
In Tempe, the westbound U.S. 60 ramp to eastbound Interstate 10 will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for barrier wall repair.
The two left lanes of the westbound U.S. 60 approaching the I-10 interchange will be closed as part of the project.
In the northeast Valley, Cave Creek Road will be narrowed to one lane in both directions at Loop 101 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project, with the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cave Creek Road also closed.
South of downtown Phoenix, the installation of bridge girders will force the closure of Central Avenue in both directions at I-17 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
