Scottsdale to host ‘June Days’ events to celebrate city’s 70th anniversary

PHOENIX — The city of Scottsdale is kicking off a monthlong celebration of events to commemorate the city’s 70th anniversary this June.
The inaugural “June Days” series invites locals and visitors to Old Town Scottsdale for events, concerts, art walks, fitness and more.
Businesses, retailers and restaurants will also participate in the festivities with deals and special activities, according to a press release.
“June Days celebrates the very best Scottsdale has to offer our residents every day as well as pleasing our out-of-town visitors,” Mayor David Ortega said in the release.
“There is so much to see and do right in the heart of Old Town throughout the month — something for everyone.”
Throughout June, people can enjoy summer concerts at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, special rates on services and packages at designated local hotels, performances at Scottsdale Center for Performing Arts, craft workshops at The Merchantile of Scottsdale, yoga classes and more.

Starlight Movie Nights
June 4 and 5 at 8 p.m. at Scottsdale Stadium (7408 E. Osborn Road)
Guests will have their own socially-distanced space to enjoy an outdoor movie-going experience in the outfield of Scottsdale Stadium. Gates open at 7 p.m. for “socially-distanced hour” during which music will be provided while guests get comfortable. Movies begin at 8 p.m. Space is limited and reservations can be made for a fee. The cost for a space is $25 and accommodates one to four people.
Bike and Seek Scavenger Hunt
June 12 and 13 from 9-11 a.m. at Marshall Way Bridge (7124 E. Stetson Drive)
Participants will ride through Old Town Scottsdale, solving riddles and brain teasers to discover hot spots, historical markers and unique sites. The cost is $15.
Scottsdale Solstice Celebration
June 20 from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Solstice Park (4420 N. Scottsdale Road)
Scottsdale is ringing in summer with free snow cones, live music, wandering jugglers and magicians to dedicate Scottsdale’s newest park. Shade, misters, and water available as guests. Admission is free.
Scottsdale Gallery Association Gold Palette ArtWalk
June 24 from 6:30-9 p.m. at Scottsdale Arts District
Guests can enjoy refreshments and live entertainment while perusing local galleries throughout Old Town. Attendance is free.
