PHOENIX — The Arizona Science Center will be back open seven days a week starting Tuesday after operating on a limited schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Arizona Science Center has been closed each Tuesday for deep cleaning since reopening in late August.

“As increased COVID vaccination rates reduce community spread in the Phoenix metro region, we are thrilled to return to being open daily once again,” Dean Briere, Arizona Science Center’s Interim CEO, said in a press release.

“We are especially excited to be more accessible as the weather outside heats up, since it is always a cool and comfortable 74 degrees inside the Science Center!”

The science center closed on March 17 of last year as COVID-19 began to take a foothold in the state before a phased reopening in June. It was shuttered once again just ten days later as cases began to spike and remained that way until August.

People can enjoy a number of new amenities this summer, including an exhibit on the science of bubbles and another that dives into the world of Arachnids.

An exhibit that opens on June 19 will allow visitors to explore basic design and engineering concepts.

The Arizona Science Center is open from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Reservations are required and can be purchased online.

Face masks are required for those 2 years old and older, with mesh masks, gaiter masks and masks with one-way valves all prohibited.

Daily occupancy is limited to 10% of the building capacity, according to the website.
