PHOENIX – The humble can is finally getting its due.

The inaugural Canacopia Festival will celebrate the joy of pop-top libations next month in Mesa.

The first-of-its-kind event for adults 21 and older will take place in two sessions – 12-4 p.m. and 5-9 p.m. — on June 5 at Eastmark Great Park, 10100 E. Ray Road.

All-inclusive tickets, which include alcoholic beverages and food, are available online for $68 plus fees through June 4. The price goes up to $80 at the door.

Designated drivers can get in for $25 and enjoy water, soft drinks and a snack.

More than a dozen brands, from Phoenix’s own Huss Brewing to White Claw to Jose Cuervo, will be on hand to offer about 60 types of canned cocktails, wine, seltzer and craft beer.

Three musical acts will perform during each session: The Hourglass Cats, Jim Bachmann and the Day Drinkers, and Tommy Price and the Stilettos.

Find more information on the Canacopia website.

We want to hear from you.
