PHOENIX — Drivers will face major restrictions on Interstate 17 in north Phoenix and a closure on a portion of westbound Loop 101 in the northeast Valley this weekend.

Southbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane with the HOV lane open between Dove Valley Road and Dixileta Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 2 a.m. Sunday for resurfacing, while northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane with the HOV lane open between Dixileta Drive and Pioneer Road from 10 p.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

The northbound I-17 on-ramp at State Route 74/Carefree Highway will be closed, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation, while the northbound I-17 on- or off-ramps between Loop 303 and Pioneer Road will be closed as needed for the project.

Restrictions will also occur on westbound Interstate 10 with the left two lanes being closed between Broadway Road and State Route 143 at the Broadway Curve from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 4 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday for pre-construction survey work.

In the northeast Valley, westbound Loop 101 will be closed between 56th Street and State Route 51 from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for diamond grinding of pavement as part of a widening project.

The westbound Loop 101 on-ramps at Scottsdale Road and 64th Street will also be closed as part of the project.
