PHOENIX — Arizona health officials said Monday approximately 30,000 COVID-19 vaccine appointments remain available for this week at state-run sites.

Appointments that opened Friday are available at all eight state-run sites that will offer vaccinations this week, including about 7,800 at the Dexcom drive-thru site in Mesa.

Another 5,000 appointments are open at University Union Fieldhouse at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, which opened Monday.

The site at WestWorld in Scottsdale, which opens Thursday, has another 4,600 available appointments. So does the University of Arizona site in Tucson, which accounts for about 80% of available weekly capacity.

The Yuma Civic Center has 2,300 open appointments. State Farm Stadium has 2,000 available before it closes Friday in favor of the indoor site across the street at Gila River Arena. The new Glendale site has 1,700 openings.

Finally, the Arizona State University site at Desert Financial Arena in Tempe has 100 available appointments.

Demand to receive the COVID-19 vaccine has slowed since Arizona opened eligibility to adults in late March.

The dashboard showed that 4,495,519 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, with 2,736,235 people (38.1% of the state’s population) having received at least one shot and 1,926,181 people fully vaccinated.

For details about statewide vaccine availability, the ADHS website has a vaccine-finder page showing locations and registration information.

For information about metro Phoenix vaccine availability, Maricopa County Public Health has a locator page that lists pharmacies, government-run sites, health clinics and pop-up distribution events.

The following week’s worth of appointments for mass vaccination sites run by the state, which use the Pfizer vaccine, are released every Friday at 11 a.m. Appointments can be booked online at https://podvaccine.azdhs.gov/ or by calling 844-542-8201.

Additional spots can open at any time through any provider because of cancellations and additional deliveries, so vaccine seekers should continue checking any or all of the registration options regularly.
