Crews battle residential brush fire in central Phoenix

PHOENIX — Crews successfully battled a brush fire in central Phoenix that damaged two homes, authorities said Tuesday.
Phoenix Fire responded to the scene near 32nd Street and McDowell Road at about 11 a.m. after a report about a palm tree on fire, Capt. Scott Douglas said.
Firefighters found several palm trees burning near homes, dropping flaming debris below and igniting the brush fire.
After about an hour, the fire was extinguished.
No families were displaced by the fire.
No firefighters were injured during the incident.
No other information was immediately available.
