FBI search for Robert Fisher continues 20 years after Arizona murders

PHOENIX — Almost 20 years later, authorities are still seeking a man who is suspected of murdering his family in Scottsdale.
Robert William Fisher is accused of killing Mary Fisher, 38, and the couple’s children, Robert Jr., 10, and Brittney, 13, on April 10, 2001, before blowing up their home.
Fisher, who was 40 years old at the time, hasn’t been seen since the night before the murders. He’s since made it on the FBI’s Most Wanted list.
FBI Special Agent Taylor Hannah, the third investigator to be assigned to the case over its span, said she still gets weekly tips about Fisher.
Progress in finding Fisher, however, has been difficult.
“Really I think there could be a lot of possibilities. Could he still be out there somewhere with a different identity and name? Sure, it’s a possibility,” Hannah told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
“Could he be deceased now due to natural causes or an accident? That’s also a possibility.”
Hannah said investigators are focusing on the facts and evidence in the case in hopes of tracking down Fisher.
Technological advances since 2001 have been helpful, Hannah said.
The FBI has also been reaching out to people who knew Fisher in hopes of finding out information that could lead to his capture.
“We really want those people to come forward so we can get justice for Mary, Brittney and Bobby,” Hannah said.
About two weeks after the murders, authorities found Fisher’s abandoned SUV and his dog about 90 miles northeast of Phoenix near the town of Young.
Believing Fisher was possibly hiding out in a series of caves, more than 100 officers conducted a manhunt of the mountainous terrain. The search was called off a few days later.
Authorities released age-progressed photos of Fisher, who would be nearing 60 years old, in 2016.

A reward of up to $100,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.
